Chicago is the largest city in US and is a major hub for industry, infrastructure and telecommunications. It is also a great place to visit for a tourist. When it comes to attractions in Chicago, the list seems to be endless.

Attractions in Chicago : Sears Tower

Sears Tower is one of the main attractions in Chicago and is the tallest building in the city. It is also one of the tallest in the world. The tower look different from all angles and the special design enables it to counter the strong breeze with ease. There is an observation desk at a height of 412 meters with a couple of glass balconies that protrude outwards to about 4.3 feet. This means you can have an amazing view of the street below from that height. This might be a little uneasy for some but the view is worth the watch.

Attractions in Chicago : Navy Pier



Whenever somebody talks about the attractions in Chicago, Navy Pier is always a part of the discussion. The construction of the pier started back in the year 1914 and was once the largest pier in the world. It is a major tourist attraction in the modern times and has a 45-meter high Ferris wheel. There is also a musical carousel and 36 hand painted animals. There are two museums as well for you to visit and enjoy the day. There is also an anchored helium filled balloon for you to take a view from a height or around 107 meters.

If you are a sports lover, you can try your hands on an 18-hole golf course. Those who love the sea tides can choose to go in for a cruise.

There is also a structure called skyline stage that is used as ice skating rink during winter and a huge theater during summer.

Shedd Aquarium is one of the prime attractions in Chicago that plays host to over two million visitors every year. The aquarium is home to about 20,000 different animals ranging across as many as 1,500 different species. The aquarium is known for Caribbean Reef that offers view of the aquatic life from a glass wall and an Oceanarium where dolphins present a special show for the viewers.

Attractions in Chicago : Museum of Science and Industry



One of the greatest attractions in Chicago for the science enthusiast is the Museum of Science and Industry. About two million visitors come to the place every year. Some of the popular attractions of the place include a submarine, a spacecraft, a Boeing, the Zephyr train and a replica of the first plane that ever flew.



Lincoln Park Zoo

Another of the important attractions in Chicago is the Lincoln Park Zoo. A visit to the place can just be the perfect outing for the kids. There are about 2300 animals at the place and about 75 species of birds.

Grant Park
